Whitebulldog:
When i bought the bird the seller said that he bought the bird from his neighbour and there were no papers on him but he said the bird is 6-7 years old.
I was thinking if there was a possibility to see the birds exact age from what stands on the ring, and if not too locate the breeder. Thanks to you guys i know that the bird is a dutchman and wearing a sexring wich a vet has put on, not the breeder...well i guess it is nearly impossible to know more so maybe the ring will always be a mystery..

And if the bird just has a sexring and no close banded ring, it's very likely (although still speculation) that the bird is wild-caught. So getting to know the birds age will be nearly impossible.

Oh wild-caught...if so he must been in a quarantine and after that a veterinary has checked him and put on the ring?

It will have been in quarantaine, but probably the ring would have been put on later. Probably an earlier owner would have wanted to know the sex, brought it to the vet to be checked and that vet would have put the ring.
I assume a previous owner would have wanted to breed with the bird and needed to know the sex. For some reason the bird got sold and it started to be passed on and passed on and passed on. So who knows how many owners the bird had.

Is there any chance the bird is chip-marked, and can a vet determine the sex and DNA-testing it for exact age?

The only way to check if it's chipmarked is to check it. It is for sure possible. If it is chipped it will a lot easier to determine where the bird is coming from. DNA testing will not help you at all in determing the age and neither will endoscopic sexing. If you by chance find the vet who sexed it before you ll know when it was sexed so it gives you a bit of a clue about the age but anyway it would only give you a guideline. Checking of the age of a wild-caught bird in adult plumage is anyway very very difficult.

Maybe i should take him to the vethospital in Gothenburg, they have specialists on parrots there. But i think they are very expensive, but it might be worth it
